Thom Browne has opened his first flagship store in Japan. The windowless grey marble clad façade with only a, glass door does not allow passersby to know what lies within, creating a sense of tension and mystery. Once inside, however, the interior of the shop differs completely from the exterior that appears so withdrawn from the city. A Upon entry, there is a staircase space in the center of the three-story shop, and the design lets the visitor experience multiple levels at once—the floor above and below the ground level, and the rooms to the right and the left. By drawing on the brand image created by fashion designer Thom Browne in New York, and combining that with a closed exterior and layered interior, the store provides a fresh vision of the THOM BROWNE. NEW YORK brand in Tokyo.
