HIROO ESTATES

April 2021 - Hiroo, Tokyo

Located in the elegant neighborhood, Hiroo Estates is a luxury property project.
Bruno Taut, a German architect, once praised the Katsura Rikyu Imperial Villa as a work “so beautiful it makes [him] want to cry.” The West and the East have been mutually inspired and affected by each other’s aesthetic senses.
Here at Hiroo Estates, the goal was to create a timeless interior that retains a sense of freshness, a space where traditional Japanese aesthetics integrate with international modernism.
Various details were constructed with meticulous calculations, leaving room for personalization to create a place where people can live a fulfilling life in their own way. By focusing on the subject-object relationship, we played with the space’s sense of depth to create a spatial experience where the view seems to rearrange itself as you walk. The resultant design is a proposal for an anonymous living space where its definition of luxury is different from that of superficial extravagance.
The furniture was provided by Liaigre Studio in France. Their elevated elegance and the purity of the space blend together to create an entirely distinctive interior.
