L/UNIFORM TOKYO

This is the first flagship store in Japan by a French bag brand, L/UNIFORM. Following the Paris flagship store that opened in 2015, the store was designed to evoke a sense of curiosity through a concept based on museum vaults that contain a large variety of items in countless drawers and the Cabinet of Wonders*. In the center of the store is a large counter that stocks fabric samples. It is also used to personalize items through a monogramming service, and we interpreted the ceaseless activity at this counter as a kind of “laboratory” in our store design.

*Rooms created by scholars and the nobility in Europe during the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period to store and exhibit objects of curiosity.
