Woolrich, America’s oldest outdoor clothing brand, has opened its first Japan store in Tokyo’s Omotesando area. The store features Woolrich’s signature buffalo check on its facade, boldly signifying the brand’s presence to the Omotesando locals. The first floor is dedicated to the women’s wear, and the second floor to men’s wear. Arctic parka, the brand’s classic icon, is displayed on the mezzanine. The ceiling, made of vintage wooden beams, contrasts against the plain white floors. Lighting fixtures are designed in various different styles. These are a few examples of the store’s contrasting elements that make up a hybrid design, combining old heritage and contemporary to amplify the brand’s essence and spirit.
