Our goal was to create a minimalist space that is directly influenced by the power of the products: vegetables shipped directly from the Kyushu region. Inspiration came from the simple, fiercely utilitarian stores of Japan in the olden days, where the atmosphere is determined by the quality of the products themselves. The project proposes a new style of the traditional “yaoya” (fruit and vegetable store) by reading into the way stores functioned in the past, and reformatting it to the present.
