“Rustic Modern”
Mackintosh Limited’s casual brand, Traditional Weatherwear, opened its first flagship store in the lower level in the same building where the Mackintosh Aoyama Store is located.
The entrance is on the ground level and upon entering, customers are lead through a corridor with walls that have been hand-painted, to a set of stairs leading down to the lower level where the retail space is located. As you walk around the glass cube in the center of the shop, you discover displays that each presents unique characteristics of the clothing line. The natural feel is embodied by the wooden ceiling and coupled with the factory-like atmosphere gives the store a British sensibility that at a glance connects this store to the Mackintosh store above.
